Development-wise, it appears to be dead. There have been plenty of good intentions but I think everyone who was able to work on PythonCard in the past have more important things to worry about. I'm only using it when I'm maintaining old Python GUI applications, which is pretty rare nowadays (I haven't touched any Python code this year). A new release to gather up all of the little fixes since 0.8.2 would have been good, but by now there must be little tweaks and stuff all over the place. I have no suggestions on a better Python GUI RAD tool - PythonCard is the only one I've been productive with although I suspect I'm a bit out of touch nowadays. I'd be interested in opinions on this too - have GUI RAD tools for dynamic languages got nowhere after all these years? -- XXXXXXXXXXX |
