I'm traveling right now so I don't have time for a big reply, but I will respond again this weekend. I'm not in favor of forking the project. If someone is interested in contributing they can simply be made a developer for the existing project. We can migrate the project to svn from cvs while still utilizing the services of SourceForge. Discussion of particular patch suggestions should be done on the pythoncard-devel mailing list.
