On my shiny new Powerbook everything appears to be working fine from a fresh CVS checkout. I can confirm that I'm using the Apple supplied versions of Python (2.3.5) and wxPython (2.5.3.1). I haven't tried installing wxPython 2.6 so can't corroborate Brad's issues with strange error messages.
