I think you are doing wxPython again. With Pythoncard using a text field 
named TextField1 and a list List1 copying the selection to the text 
field is as simple as this (no self.Bind needed):

    def on_List1_select(self, event):
        self.components.TextField1.text = 
self.components.List1.stringSelection
