I've got an item on my to do list to write a utility to convert 
PythonCard resource files to XRC and vice versa. You are more than 
welcome to progress it as I'm not likely to get to it soon.

At present there are no plans to replace PythonCard's resource files 
with XRC for the reasons that Alex mentions.

With a conversion utility as a starting point the two may get closer 
together though.
