I've been trying to open the 'drift' font using PLWM's 'Font' mixin for the
window manager, which uses python-xlib's display.open_font(). However, it
always claims it can't find the font. I imagine that the standard X
protocol's methods for getting fonts aren't sufficient for getting a font
managed by fontconfig, but I even added the artwiz-latin1 directory to my
font path in xorg.conf and ran mkfontdir, and it doesn't show up. 'fixed'
seems to work fine, but I imagine that's because it's a built-in font.
Is there any way to get fonts working under fontconfig/xft with
