I am learning to use Qt with PyQt and PySide. I want to create a
desktop application that works much like a gnome-panel or dock.
Therefore it needs to have reserved screen space (i.e. maximizing
windows should not overlap with that application).
I have found no way to get Qt to address X directly -- whereas Gtk is
able to do that, see:
Can I--and if so how--implement Python-XLib functions to reserve
screen space for my application?
