[python-sybase] client support of more than 255 chars

i am using Python sybase module 0.37.
recently i encountered

"Character or binary data returned from Adaptive Server has been truncated.
The client application does not support more than 255 bytes of data as a
result column or output parameter."

when i call a stored procedure. What can be a workaround for this?
