that's allright. On my suse linux box it is the same - and it runs.
the "from _ldap import *" loads _ldap.so -- I think it is the lib form of a
package. or a extension library for python, written in C.
this is the output of "rpm -ql python-ldap-2.0.0pre04-45" on my suse box:
