Nothing wrong with that.

See UserDict.py:

     def get(self, key, failobj=None):
         if not self.has_key(key):
             return failobj
         return self[key]

Method UserDict.get() calls self.__getitem__(). I've added two 
test cases to ldap.cidict as proof that this works correctly.
