Well using swig-ldap might still be awfull for users of python-ldap,
so I wasnt talking to much about it ...

Maybe its not as complete as python-ldap but its used in a productive
enviroment (solaris 5.5.1 / 7.2 ; freebsd ) and might serve as an
interesting
example.
