Sorry, I didn't look at Build, but compilation from the top level
directory is broken:

$ ~/devel/ldapmodule/python-ldap-1.10a > make
cd Modules && make srcdir=./Modules VPATH=./Modules
make[1]: Entering directory
`/home/joe/devel/ldapmodule/python-ldap-1.10a/Modules'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `Modules/LDAPObject.c',
needed by `LDAPObject.o'.  Stop.
