[Pytables-announce] News on PyTables success stories competition

Hi everybody!  This is a new version of the announce of the PyTables
success stories competition.  We thought that some of you would prefer
sending your success stories directly by e-mail, so now you can also
participate in that way, besides using the wiki.

We know you have stories worth telling, let's see them!

Have you been using PyTables_ in your project?  Has it been useful to
you?  Here at Carabos_ we want to hear your experience!  With occasion
of our first anniversary, we are giving away ViTables_ licenses for
the best success stories.  Step in, it's very easy!

You just have to expose your success story with PyTables to let the
world know.  The three best stories get a free ViTables license.

How to participate
=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D

You choose how to participate: by e-mail, or using the wiki.

If you want to use e-mail, write your story in a new message
indicating that you want it to enter the PyTables success stories
competition.  Then send it to pyt...@ca..., and we will copy
it (with your name, but not your address) to the SuccessStories_ page
in the PyTables wiki.

If you prefer to use the wiki, just go to the UserPreferences_ page in
pytables.org and create your own *NameSurname* wiki account (if you
didn't already have one).  Remember to provide an e-mail address (you
want us to tell you in case you win, don't you?).  Once you are logged
in, go to the SuccessStories_ page and append a new section showing
your experience.

Explain where you work and which is your position. Try to describe the
problem you had and how PyTables helped you to solve it. Conciseness
is important, but so it is to provide a rich view for the reader; just
be creative and write a good and attractive story!

Entries submitted from 5 April 2006 to 31 May 2006 inclusive will
enter the competition.  Only one entry is accepted per
person/organisation.  However, the SuccessStories_ page will remain
available after the competition, so you will still be able to post
further stories, if you have them.

Once the submission term is over, the members of Carabos will vote for
the three stories which they find to be more attractive (making one of
us shed a tear means a higher chance for a vote ;-) ).  The list of
winners will be published in the main page of www.carabos.com on 5
June 2006.  The winners will also be individually notified by e-mail.
