[Pytables-users] How much extra metadata does PyTables insert?

Hi,

I have a question about the metadata that PyTables inserts into the HDF5
files.

Is this data stored in the files themselves, but just not user defined? The
important question is, does this metadata make the HDF5 files inaccessible
by other means, such as the standard C library or H5Py?
