Hello
I am using Modbus Test kit is an implementation of the Modbus protocol in python (http://code.google.com/p/modbus-tk/)
This uses pySerial

When using a Virtual COM Port ( Windows XP PC) I get the following error ...

"Error while handling request, Exception occurred: WriteFile failed ([Error 995]
The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request.)"

Opening and reading the serial port is ok but when try to write you get this error

What does this mean?
Any fixes?
Thank you
Michael

    hm..

maybe the application opens and closes the port while the write is happening.

have you tested with miniterm (from the pySerial examples)? Does the error occur there too? Do other, non pySerial based, applications work with that port?
