#121 Space and Mark Parity has no effect

No

I am using version 2.6 of pyserial under Python 3.2.2 on Windows7 32bit.

When I set parity to mark or space, there is no effect, ie, it behaves exactly as if there is no parity. My understanding is that mark and space parity is supposed to be working on Windows.

Yes the windows API has these settings and they are used in pySerial.

How do you determine that there is no effect? Did you look at the signals with an oscilloscope?

Actually with a logic analyzer. Space and mark parity have no effect.

Closing bug as there were no updates for some time. I think pySerial applies the parity settings correctly but the driver or chip (especially when it is a USB-Serial adapter) may still ignore these settings.
