Sorry, I didn't see your post before my earlier private response. There's a cross-platform wxWindows recording facility at http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~music/audacity/ supporting Win/Mac/Linux/BeOS. Do you think the input sections could be lifted as an extra companion library for SDL/pySDL (or as a kind of side-related plug-in only for pySDL?) I'm happy to try hacking through the conversion if someone can give some clues on how I would go about doing it.
