#321 thread.start_new_thread broken on Nokia 5800

Method thread.start_new_thread to execute a function concurrently, does not work on Nokia 5800.

The function passed to start_new_thread, the one that should be called concurrently is never entered.

Tried on a Nokia 5800 firmware V 20.0.012.C01.01
with PyS60 1.4.5 3rd Edition

Attached is a simple test script that works on N96 (tested with Nokia's RDA service) but does not work on Nokia 5800. The thread method abcdef is never called.

I stumbled to this with N97 as well. Hope this can be fixed as Icannot migrate the project to 1.9.x due to several missing extensions.
