Hi, This project can be considered "abandon ware". I would recommend you to look at pyqtgraph (http://www.pyqtgraph.org/) and/or <begin publicity> silx (http://www.silx.org/) </end publicity>. Good luck! Hello, I am new on Python and QtDesigner and I am developping a GUI on QtDesigner, and then convert the .ui file on a .py file to use the class generate like this. My wish is to plot some data (I don't car if it is on a graphicsView, or other Widgets) and I see your website. My question is: pyqwt is it compatible with Python 3.6 and PyQt5 ? If yes, I don't find examples on you website, am I wrong? Thank you for your answer. Best regards. -- Gauquelin Mathieu Ingénieur Informatique Scientifique Epsilon-Alcen |

Hi. I understand that PyQwt is no longer developed, but I have this application I want to continue to use. Is there some pointer someone can give me to try to update the requirements to allow me to continue to use this package? Thanks -- By ZeD |

Hi, Well, first question: Is PyQwt actively being supported? Secondly, I have RHEL6 x86_64 I need to build PyQwt-5.2.0 from source. Looking through the mailing list archives; I did not see a solution. I bump into the following configure stage error: ===================================================== [ernesto@icd-pc90626 configure]$ python configure.py -Q ../qwt-5.2 Command line options: {'debug': False, 'disable_numarray': False, 'disable_numeric': False, 'disable_numpy': False, 'excluded_features': [], 'extra_cflags': [], 'extra_cxxflags': [], 'extra_defines': [], 'extra_include_dirs': [], 'extra_lflags': [], 'extra_lib_dirs': [], 'extra_libs': [], 'jobs': '', 'module_install_path': '', 'modules': [], 'qt': 4, 'qwt_sources': '../qwt-5.2', 'sip_include_dirs': [], 'subdirs': [], 'timelines': [], 'trace': ''} Requires at least PyQt-4.2 and its development tools. =================================================== Any help to resolve, would be awesome. I have PyQt4 statically built as that seem to be the only option. python2.7.9/lib/python2.7/site-packages/PyQt4 [ernesto@icd-pc90626 PyQt4]$ ls __init__.py libQtGui_s.a libQtOpenGL_s.a libQtSvg_s.a libQt_s.a __init__.pyc libQtHelp_s.a libQtScriptTools_s.a libQtTest_s.a libphonon_s.a libQtAssistant_s.a libQtMultimedia_s.a libQtScript_s.a libQtXmlPatterns_s.a uic/ libQtCore_s.a libQtNetwork_s.a libQtSql_s.a libQtXml_s.a Cheers, Ernest |

Hi, Newbie question: I would like to now again try the PyQwt but reverting back to PyQT4 But get the following after the configure stage: python configure-ng.py The Qt Designer plugin was disabled because a dynamic Python library couldn't be found. I also saw the same issue with PyQT5 Indeed, I have python dynamic libraries here: <>/python/python2.7.9/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload This is referenced by my LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable. Thanks, Ernest |

I am the original author of PyQwt and as far as me concerns PyQwt is dead, because I wrote it for my own needs and I am not using it anymore and deleted it from my computers anymore. Someone asked for co-maintainership to move PyQwt to github and I agreed in the hope that I could officially step back. You can find it at https://github.com/PyQwt However, I do not think that he has acquired the skills and the interest to maintain PyQwt, meaning that PyQwt has no maintainer anymore. Hi there, since years we use patch on sip files for both qt3 and qt4 versions of PyQwt5 about QwtList. * sip/qw5qt3/common/QwtValueList.sip * sip/qw5qt4/QwtList.sip A bug has been introduced since sip is supporting the enumerate types (sipConvertFromEnum) some times ago !!! The lastest version on cvs has not been fixed and one can get the bug using python-qwt5-qt4 binary debian package. I do not know if there is still some maintainers on this project and who should take care of the fix or how to simply submit the patch to somewhere ? Thanks in advance for your help. Laurent |

Carlos, thank you for your help. After: python -c 'import PyQt4.QtCore;print PyQt4.QtCore.PYQT_VERSION_STR' I get: 4.10.4, so I can confirm that my PyQt4 is newer than 4.2 needed, there should be no problem. Regarding development packages, the massage says "Requires at least PyQt-4.2 and its development tools", so it means the development packages of PyQt-4.2. I search for a similar package (like PyQt-4.2-dev or something similar) but I couldn't find any. I run configure.py and now I know that the message is thrown after trying to import PyQt4.pyqtconfig: try: import PyQt4.pyqtconfig as pyqtconfig except ImportError: raise Die(required) So, I tried manually and pyqtconfig does note exist in my PyQt4. I can import PyQt4, but there is no pyqtconfig. I am stuck. Any ideas? Carlos Zelayeta |

Hi Thanks for the offer Uwe. I hope someone more talented steps in :) Is there anyone working on Pyside bindings? Maybe there is more interest there, I am interested in both PyQt and Pyside. I will read through the PyQwt bindings during Christmas but I cannot promise to be of any help. Regards Gudjon |

IMO the best way to do this would be to add a thin C++ wrapper around Qwt that provides an API that is tailored for the language binding. It is also not necessary to bind all and everything of Qwt. I can offer my help with writing this wrapper and to maintain it together with the Qwt library itself. Under these preconditions it should not be that hard to come up with an updated PyQwt version - the missing piece is someone who is familiar with Python and the process how to bind a C++ interface. Hi Joachim Thanks for the effort. Are you planning to update PyQwt to Qwt6? I am interested in helping but I cannot promise to have time. Can you please add the following patch that is needed to make PyQwt compile with python3.4. Regards Gudjon |

dear developers, - the new home for RCS can be found on: https://github.com/PyQwt - file BUGS at https://github.com/PyQwt for the respective repository - upcoming releases will be on https://github.com/PyQwt as well since i wasn't able to disable the CVS on sf.net i removed it to avoid confusion. a backup can be found here: https://lastlog.de/misc/pyqwt-8.12.2014-sf.net-CVS-rsync.tar.bz2 if you want to contribute, please do so: your 'pull requests' are welcome! we hope this makes contributions easier! thanks a lot for the support from Gerard Vermeulen! best wishes, joachim schiele |

Hello again list There is a new version of the debian package on my server: deb http://gudjon.org/debian/ amd64/ deb-src http://gudjon.org/debian/ source/ and all the examples seem happy with both python2 and python3. Please test. If you install both python versions at the same time you need to do dpkg -i --force-overwrite but I will fix that ASAP. Hi list I have started porting PyQwt5 to python3, see attached patch. It is now perfect but some of the examples work when I apply it. I will work more on it but it may take time so I rather send you this imperfect patch now. Regards Gudjon |
