In short: PyQwt's building relies on a file that's no longer generated by PyQt's build process. This causes a build failure that we noticed over at Homebrew. We have a workaround in place, but are requesting that this be fixed upstream since it's a PyQwt vs PyQt bug.

    I can confirm this is an issue also on Gentoo and apparently Debian as well from what I've read.

    Ok, after much trial and tribulation, I have discovered this is an issue BUT it is merely a version conflict, apparently with sip, and there doesn't seem to be a really good way to fix it except to downgrade sip and PyQt4 and only then update to the latest versions. If you update sip before you update PyQt4, you will face an eternity of problems that don't seem to have any solutions.
