[Pyqt-mac-list] qt/mac and eric3 performance

Hello, all.  I like Eric on linux, and haven't found anything 
comparable under os-x, so I'm trying qt/mac.  I'm trying to run Eric 
and QT-Designer on a 1.8 ghz G5 iMac with 2 gig of memory and a 10,000 
rpm raptor harddrive.  I would hope QT would be reasonably snappy on 
this equipment, but it isn't.  QT-designer is sluggish and Eric is 
sloooooooooooow.  Does this match others' experience, or might there be 
some troubleshooting that I need to do to get things moving a little 
quicker?  Everything does work--I'm crash-free so far and Eric is 
usable, but only barely, and it isn't pleasant.
