#45 easy_install on all sys grabbing installer instead of source

No

I have recently released the GChartWrapper v0.8, the first one to come with an osx installer. When people try to run easy_install GChartWrapper, it downloads the zipped osx installer instead of the tar.gz source (eventhough that setting is nowhere in my administrative realm). I have put up the download url to point to the .tar.gz (the correct one), but easy install still insists on downloading the installer (not helpful). This issue has been brought to my attention and is available here http://code.google.com/p/google-chartwrapper/issues/detail?id=17

Thank you,
Justin

This problem not only exists on OSX, but also appears to be on any distro (i just tried on ubuntu9)

This has the same behavior on any OS (tested on Ubuntu, Fedora, XP, and OSX). It seems to prefer the osx installer instead of the source despite the settings on the PyPI page (http://pypi.python.org/pypi/GChartWrapper/0.8)

This is the bug tracker for PyPI, whereas your report seems to be about setuptools (and easy_install in particular). Please report the issue to the setuptools tracker.
