Thanks for the pach. However:

       elif distribution == 'Gentoo':
               cfg.include_dirs = ['/usr/include/pyPgSQL']
               cfg.library_dirs = ['/usr/lib']

is this meant to work? I somehow doubt that the directory
with the PostgreSQL header files is called
'/usr/include/pyPgSQL', even on Gentoo Linux ;-)
