Are You sure that You have properly installed and working
egenic-mx-base package?  Could You send here some error messages?
What does "we could not read" mean?  Please, be more concrete if You
want someone to help You... :)

I think this is problem with a broken Python installation.  What is
the version of pyPgSQL and Python You are working with?  Have You
compiled everyting yourself or used ready .rpm packages?
