I think pulling the game-related code out of connection.py is a good idea.
It makes the code more modular, portable, and understandable.

JSON looks awesome!  Its kind of like a nice, non-bloated XML.  I'd try to
use that and save yourself the trouble or rewriting/reparsing the
messages.

Nice regex cheatsheet.  I like it!  I also like your blog.

Sorry again for my lack of presence lately!  Having a busy summer!  Things
will slow down eventually and I'll get back into it.
