I can see both sides of it.

Unit testing is good and would be very professional.  Plus it would be a
good chance for me to learn more about PyUnit and unit testing in general.

but...

It does also seem like a lot of extra work and perhaps overkill for this
sized project.

is a source code checker to validate a file is in PEP8 format.(i think)
No idea if it works well or not, just a thought.
