GtkGLArea() is provided by Gtk, so if you're not calling anything else
(i.e. PyOpenGL functions) the error is *likely* going to be somewhere
over on the Gtk side. To the best of my knowledge PyGTK doesn't know
anything about PyOpenGL, so wouldn't be calling back into it.
