#1 Functionality from openglutil.c in 2.0

Request from Michel Sanner to add this functionality
somewhere. Requires ability to generate display lists
for large data sets. I'm not sure what blend of
Python and C is appropriate. Will need to figure out
what's really needed and what's doable.

Looks like at least 100 users going to be put out by
leaving it out, so we'll have to come up with
something.
