thinking to myself... I wonder if something similar could be done in
python...
Well, not exactly similar, but kinda neat for a little hack- I wrote a
little widget like thing with pyobjc if anyone wants to run it. It uses
xmlrpc to talk to a perl script on my server that brings back a fortune.

The first link is the app without the pyobjc stuff in the Resources dir.
Also, It's a background app (and takes a while to start up), so if you
want to quit it, right click on it and choose "quit"
I was also wondering... how hard would it be to create little bundles
of these, and load them up dynamically? Something for me to explore in
the future anyway.
