Great! The immediate outcome of this is the following regular
expression explorer (I'm sure you've also got dozens of ideas
for extending it ;-):

Maybe a nice demo...? The source can be improved, but it's
been only a one hour hack... Notice the ability to change text
fonts and sizes!
