Hello everybody, I just started using APBS under WinXP with PyMOL 0.99. I have used a similar combination under Linux with no problems before, but under Windows, I get ObjectMapLoadDXFile-Error: Unable to open file! message when I try to run APBS.I tried both, PyMOL and server generated pqr with little success. Anyone has been able to run APBS under WinXP? Thanks a ton, Alexei. |

Deal all, I am using Pymol (recent ver 0.99), plugged-in with APBS, on Widows XP. = When I run the APBS program (ver 0.4.0), I get the error message as" New grid dimensions are [97, 97, 65] APBS Tools: coarse grid: (103.894,115.909,84.240) APBS Tools: fine grid: (81.114,88.182,69.553) APBS Tools: center: (11.253,-2.720,10.888) APBS Tools: fine grid points (97,97,65) 'D:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, = operable program or batch file. ObjectMapLoadDXFile-Error: Unable to open file! - something wrong in assigning a correct path name. How to fix this = error? I appreciate for your valuable suggestions to overcome this = problem. -B. How to fix this error? > I appreciate for your valuable suggestions to overcome this problem. You're correct about the source of the problem...pymol isn't happy with the spaces in the filenames. The easiest way to fix this would be to use a path without spaces (aka d:\workspace), or a shortcut to that (have d:\workspace as a shortcut to your real working directory). I suspect both of these would require admin permissions (to write to top level directories, but I'm not completely farmiliar with the windows file permissions or user permissions. If you don't have admin access, then things get more complicated...You'd need to quote the full path, and escape the quotation marks in the path. Or wait for someone more experience with window to chime in with an easier solution... Hope this helps, Pete > > -B. Hi, I had the same problem with the new release of PyMOL. Just search for the requested file "msvcr71.dll" on your windows computer and copy it into the folder "c:\windows\system\". PyMOL will do its job on next startup. If you do not have the file, just google for it. There are a lot of pages who are offering dll-files. I want to reiterate you don't need this file at linking time, so hopefully future builds of pymol won't use it and hopefully no one will run into this problem.
