Hi folks: I tried to make some symmetry objects of my molecule using the instructions in the manual. MacPymol (0.94b) choked on this, crashing the whole system. (OS X doesn't often crash, but when it does, it ain't pretty). When I rebooted I was unable to log into my account. Fortunately I got in through a root account I had enabled. The key to fixing this problem is to delete the following file: rm ~/LibraryPreferences/.GlobalPreferences.plist (note the dot before G) This seems to have no effect other than to make the display after logging in take a bit longer to compose itself, so there is no harm trying this if you run into the problem of being unable to log in after such a crash.
