[PyMOL] apbs fails in PyMOL 1.6.0 on snow leopard

Dear PyMOLers,

I can set the grid in the apbs_tools gui using the default file locations  (they are correct; I checked), but I get kernel dump when I try to run apbs.
A gui pops up with the message that MacPyMOL crashed although the PyMOL guis are still open and functional. The pop-u gui gives the following error message.
