It worked for me just yesterday. You should download the new version of the plugin (http://www-personal.umich.edu/~mlerner/PyMOL/apbs_tools.py) and replace the old (it should be located in $PYMOL_PATH/modules/pmg_tk/startup/ but on my Debian sarge system it can be found in found at /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/pmg_tk/startup/).
