Pymbrola 0.1 for *nix (alpha ) released

A new release of Pymbrola is out! Pymbrola aims to be a universal text-to-phoneme engine which supports and promotes the use of the MBROLA TTS synthesizer [1].

The MBROLA project provides a good speed synthesis engine along with diphone databases for a large number of spoken languages. However, use of MBROLA is prohibited by the fact that ``the MBROLA software is not a complete text-to-speech system for all those languages; the text must first be transformed into phoneme and prosodic information in MBROLA's format, and separate software to do this is available for some but not all of MBROLA's languages and can require extra setup" [2].

Pymbrola aims to support all under-researched languages that MBROLA supports, and these are many, basically all languages except English, French, German, and Spanish! The current release is Pymbrola 0.1 alpha. It is good for both developers and users under *nix. It supports Modern Standard Arabic.

Last but not least, WE NEED DEVELOPERS AND NATIVE SPEAKERS FOR THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGES:
Afrikaans, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, Breton, Croatian, Czech, Dutch, Estonian, Greek, Korean, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Indonesian, Iranian, Japanese, Classical Latin, Lithuanian, Malay, Polish, Portuguese (European), Romanian, Spanish, Spanish Mexican, Swedish, Telugu, Turkish, Spanish Venezuelan! So if you like to enable TTS for your native language, do not hesitate to contact us at the projects homepage: http://pymbrola.sourceforge.net. You only need to know your native language well ;), if you are willing to develop some Python code, this would be a plus!
