manfred, the new CVS versions have docstrings. sourceforge cvs hasn't updated yet, but it's in the archive. i guess this will be my last email to all directly, hope i'm not bothering you; all further msgs will be sent to the mailing list. i would appreciate any comments or suggestions. julian if you wanted to try to work together i'm still interested.
