Ubuntu 11.04 unmodified. Source install. Disabled nag screen. Changed name to pykey. Dual-monitor setup.
Click images do not record to the folder. Folder is empty except for an empty text file. Flushing buffers does nothing.

Was not able to follow this instruction, as Ubuntu no longer has an xorg.conf file:
You may also have to enable the 'record' extension on your X server (if it's not enabled by default). To do that, edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and in Section "Module" add the line Load "record". Restart X for changes to take effect.
Same error here, and same problem with librecord.so: I don't know if it is loaded.
Did you make some progress?
EDIT: do your timed captures work? Mine do, so I guess xorg is ok.
