PyImtool 1.0a3 is out

This release focused mainly on speed improvements and on preliminary (but working) IMEXAM support.

Give it a try!

IMEXAM is working (and more)!

Preliminary support for IMEXAM and LOTS of speed improvements. Now we can display 4K x 4K images in under 10 seconds (on a 1GHz G4).

IMEXAM appears to be working fine, but will need some more testing...

The code is in CVS. A new release will be available shortly.

Version 1.0a2

Due to a silly bug, version 1.0a1 does not work... actually, it does, but only if you are me ;-)

Anyway, that release has been removed and a new one (working!) is out: 1.0a2.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

S/W Requirements

PyImtool requires a working installation of Python. It has been built and tested on Mac OS X 10.3 (which comes with Python pre-installed). It might work on 10.2 systems as long as /usr/bin/python points to a valid Python executable.

In short, it is recommended that you use Panther.

Version 1.0a1

Initial release of version 1.0a1.

At the moment, only basic functionality and no cursor reads. No WCS supports for celestial coordinates.

PyImtool on SourceForge!

PyImtool is now hosted on SourceForge!

In the next weeks, I will customize the SF web site and add a bug tracking system. I will also make a release available in the file download section.

Cheers
Francesco
