Is this project still alive? I'm thinking of doing something along similar lines, and don't want to re-invent any wheels. Currently I've got about 1300 LOC written to support basic UI including images, menus, and event processing. That was before I found this project. If it's still actively being developed or the authors wish to start it up again perhaps we can collaborate.
