I've noticed an inconvenient problem with the way the tree-representation in
the debug Perspective "Variables" window works:
At the moment every time you step forwards through a script which is being debugged
the state of the tree (e.g. which nodes are expanded, which nodes are visible
in the window).
The problem is that it might take some time to open the particular node of the
variables tree that you are interested in inspecting. Supposing you are searching
a particular part of the tree for a variable which changes over a number of
steps - each time you step forwards the developer is forced to re-open the entire
tree. Very annoying!
I'm sure that sometimes we could use the watch-variable feature to accomplish
the same thing - that's not always a perfect substitute because sometimes the
user does not know exactly what they are looking for, or the data-structure
is too complex to be easily defined as a watch-list expression.
Could anything be done abut this?
