Actually, http://pydev.sourceforge.net/updates does work and contains an update
for the open source version (just tested it -- probably sourceforge had some
shortage while you were trying to access it).
The link: http://www.fabioz.com/pydev/updates also works, but contains both,
the open source version and the pydev extensions version (so, if you want to
get the pydev extensions version, you have to use that link, otherwise you can
keep with http://pydev.sourceforge.net/updates ).
What both versions have is a set of optional dependencies (on mylyn / mylar),
so, if you choose that you don't want to download those, it should be fine...
But this seems to be a complain that some new users are having... I'll try to
see if I can make that more explicit someway...
