The following forum message was posted by jhameed2 at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4788654: Hello, I am trying to use Fenics with pydev in eclipse. I want to run the program by pressing the run button in eclipse. However, this fails, as the environment is not properly setup. In my .profile file, I have the following command to setup the environment in a terminal: source /Applications/FEniCS.app/Contents/Resources/share/fenics/fenics.conf However, I cant figure out where to put this command, so that the envrionment for python is setup properly when using pydev. Thanks, -Jehanzeb |

The following forum message was posted by piotr_dobrogost at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4788200: Interpreter node in PyDev Package Explorer doesn't provide scope for search dialog (ctrl+h). Selecting interpreter node and searching for re.py with Selected resources set in Scope section, results in 0 file names matching 're.py' in empty scope |

The following forum message was posted by fabioz at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4779185: You can get it in the default PyDev update site (see: http://pydev.org/download.html for the PyDev update site) -- as Mylyn is not part of Aptana, both Mylyn and the PyDev integration need to be gotten separately. Just as a note: during the update process you have to select only the Mylyn integration (as you don't want to install PyDev over the PyDev that's already integrated in Aptana). Cheers, Fabio |

The following forum message was posted by lhughes41 at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4779185: Hi, I would like to use Pydev Package explorer rather than project explorer since it seems better behaved. However, the mylyn set of buttons at top of explorer pane are not present in Package Explorer. I know there was a pydev-mylyn set of code for Exclipse. However, I installed pydev via Aptana Studio 3 ... and my impression is that I should not do separate pydev updates in eclipse but rather update via Aptana (I am uptodate). So given my Aptana Studio 3 context can I get the mylyn button set into the Package Explorer pane? Thanks |

This is a shot in the dark as I am on an Windows machine and had this issue with Data Tools Platform' (DTP) plugin but it might work in your situation as well so worth to try it. I run eclipse under a limited permission account --- the only way I could get DTP to install properly was to move Eclipse folder to my Desktop folder for which I have full permissions for. Even submitted a bug: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=358508 See if that fixes your issue --- and if it does I would suggest you submit a bug report here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/ Also just checked in the #eclipse irc channel and someone suggested this info: http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/reference/misc/multi_user_installs.html Tell me how it works out for you. The following forum message was posted by fabioz at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4739830: Ok, just got setup linux, gotten gtk/gtkgl/pyopengl, imported the example you passed ( http://python-gtkglext1.sourcearchive.com/documentation/1.1.0-4/coolwav e_8py-source.html ) up to the point to run it and tried to work in the file and (unfortunately) all went well (no Out of memory -- in fact, the heap reports as being around 90 MB). I'll try to think of something else to try to reproduce it... meanwhile, can you pass me some more info? go to window > preferences > pydev > logging and mark 'enable logging for code-completion', then, try to do a code-completion in the case that'd give you an out of memory error and pass me the output you get in the console in that case. Cheers, Fabio |

The point is to modify it in that way, that not every possibility is shown and it should be shown on the view below the editor. I found some points of interest for me, but I don't think that I found the right things... Could somebody tell what's the best way to modify pydev like this? Thanks fro, germany! |

The following forum message was posted by rekveld at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4769091: Hi, I am trying out things with Bumblebee and Ironhide on Linux; both ways to specify which programmes to run on the fast graphic cards in hybrid graphics systems. How that works is that if I run this in the terminal: optirun glxgears this will run the programme glxgears on the fast card, but if i run glxgears it will run on the slow graphics card as that is the standard behaviour. Now how can I run my python code in Pydev with ´optirun´ as a prefix ? In the run configurations I can not find a way to prepend ´optirun´ to the call to the interpreter I tried making a shell script that calls optirun /usr/bin/python2.6 and passes all parameters, but PyDev is not that easily fooled and complains that the interpreter in question is already configured. How can I achieve this in another way ? kind regards, Joost. |

The following forum message was posted by at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4762884: Hy all, I develop a RCP application which use the PyDev Console to run Python scripts. First question is; how can I write commands to the pydev console? I found this thread http://www.mail-archive.com/pyd...@li.../msg04844.html, but it no longer works. Second one; if the Jython interpreter is used, how can I access the jython interpreter. (org.python.util.PythonInterpreter object) Thanks for your help, |

The following forum message was posted by at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4762427: i'm sorry, i don't speak english very well. I noticed that when you define a variable twice, for example : #define a variable var = [] #a list #some code here #overwrite the variable with another type var = MyClass() And you want autocomplete: #method call to autocomplete var.some_my_class_meth ... The autocomplete's window shows both list functions and MyClass functions. I don't know if this is a bug or not, but it seems a little rare. I hope you can fix the problem or explain me if i'm wrong, Best wishes, ema. |

The following forum message was posted by at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4755812: Hello, I've used Eclipse (SDK edition) along with Pydev for some time now to develop in Java and Python. Recently I started to develop in C++ as well and I installed CDT to my Eclipse SDK edition. I like to group my projects into working sets and I noticed a problem when doing that for my C++ projects. Every project under working set would be repeated in the Project Explorer. After a lot of investigation, it turns out that uninstalling Pydev fixes this problem. The problem is described more in detail here: http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/245418/ (there you can also find a screenshot). So it seems pydev causes some problem for CDT-Project Explorer->working sets. |

The following forum message was posted by jhensman at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4754486: Attempting to install Pydev on Eclipse Indigo using pydev.org/updates results in the following message: Software currently installed: Shared profile 1.0.0.1316138547364 (SharedProfile_epp.package.java 1.0.0.1316138547364) Missing requirement: Shared profile 1.0.0.1316138547364 (SharedProfile_epp.package.java 1.0.0.1316138547364) requires 'org.maven.ide.eclipse [1.0.100.20110804-1717]' but it could not be found Someone else with a similar error message solved this by installing an earlier verion of Eclipse (Helios). Hello, I am a new user of Eclipse. While I tried to create a Dynamic Web Application, eclipse automatically create the web project as JAVA project. I get the message "pydev debugger: starting" in the console panel ... but it doesn't stop there. Strange because I followed all the instructions and believe the remote debugger is indeed running... The following forum message was posted by fabioz at http://sourceforge.net/projects/pydev/forums/forum/293649/topic/4741281: Actually, if you use the remote debugger, when you call 'import pydevd;pydevd.settrace()', it should properly treat that line as a breakpoint and stop over it... doesn't that happen for you? |
