Have you checked if the firewall may be blocking java 7? I.e.: you may have
given java 6 permission in the firewall but not java 7.

Anyways, right now, java 6 is recommended (java 7 is not as thoroughly tested,
but from some experiments I did, it should definitely at least work at that
level, so, it may be nice checking if the firewall could be the culprit here
-- the easy way to test that would be temporarily disabling the firewall, doing
the test and later reenabling it with the proper configuration if that was the
case).
