It should stop trying to analyze the logger when it gets to the first method... The following code would work: class MyLogger(object): def debug(self): pass logger = MyLogger() #instead of using a method to get the logger from myapp.logger import logger class Foo(object): ..def __init__(self): ....logger.debug('Creating Foo: %s', self) Still, please report that as a bug.
