No new projects on an existing directory

    Hi,

Why does Pydev not let you start a project on an existing directory?

I use python 90% of my time for simple scripts that sit directly on the path.  Since it seems that Pydev will not create a new file in a place that it is not a part of a Project, I tried creating a Project that sits on the directory, but Pydev does not let that happen.  Any reason why?  Any way around this?

    Thanks.

Can you give the steps (with examples based on the paths) you're using to do this? (it should be possible, but, I need more details on what you're actually doing to give you a solution based on it).

      Cheers,

      Fabio

I started recreating the problem, but realised the problem is a different one:  you cannot start a project in the same directory where a project already exists.  Now I just have to find out how to open that project that exists in that directory in the current workspace.

Thanks for forcing me to spell it out.
