If a simple module is created:

a = 1
print a

and saved, one can use a hyperlink to a's definition from "print a"...i.e. place the mouse on the "a" in "print a" and then hold down the CTRL key while clicking, thereby changing the current position to the first line where a is defined.

If the module is then modified to the following:

a = 1
b = 2
print a
print b

without saving, both hyperlinks fail. Once saved, however, both print statements can follow their respective variables correctly.

If you then modify the module to be:

a = 1
b = 2
c = 3
print a
print b
print c

and then CTRL click on a in "print a", it will erroneously change the current line to line 2 (b = 2).

    Solved (partially). Currently, pydev needs the files in the filesystem for that, so, it now saves the file before trying to make the match (that already happened with F3, which does the same thing).
