Now I got around the error re not finding python24_d.lib by copying
python24.lib to that name.
Next, I'm getting a lot of unresolved external symbol msgs from
_db2_connect:
   __imp___Py_Dealloc referenced in function __db2_connect
   __imp___Py_NegativeRefcount referenced in function __db2_connect
   _SQLFreeHandle@8 referenced in function __db2_connect
