I started Arduino Nano, should fit the 7x10 slick :)
after that i try to connect with raspberry 3 and 7" touch tft in the case from the Dart Board to the Nano.
Could be an interesting thingiie. :)

The Raspberry Zero here needs a job, too.

    Excellent !
Good idea. I never tried Arduino nano neither with a Raspbery but I am about to try with an omega2.
    Keep hacking dudes :)

      Hello Andreas,

Have you changed the code uploaded to the Arduino Nano. I have problem to make it works. Once uploaded, I try to make contact between 2 pins and check the results on serial monitor but no character appears

    hi andreas,
good to hear you are getting geeker than us!
How does it work with raspberry (I dont know anything about raspberry)?

I can use raspberry zero or 2/3 as simple GUI client for Pydarts. It is a simple Linux machine.
The idea i have is to put a Raspberry Zero and a Arduino Nano in a Dartboard. So we need only USB Power for the Raspberry Zero and the zero serve the Arduino with Power. We can use then the HDMI Output from zero for a Monitor. In a perfect world it can be a TouchMonitor. :) You shoukd start a Kickstarter Project :) building PyDarts with all of it included :) Or sell it as a DIY KIT :)

Good news for arduino zero :)
We will think about the kickstarter idea. I think the roadmap for such a projet is still long and should include :

    • an assistant for dart board calibration (pretty easy btw - added on road map for v1.0)
    • an installer for windows (or at least a binary - never figured out how to do that)
    • a way of getting empty cheap dart boards (without main board included)

But that could be the goal of a kickstarter projet.
DIego and I have a projet meeting next week in Berlin ^^, so we'll talk about it ;)

    Cheers :)

a empty Board cost between 2$-5$
    https://www.alibaba.com/trade/search?IndexArea=product_en&SearchText=electronic_dart&atm=&f0=y&moqf=MOQF&moqt=MOQT500

When you want a comfortable way for the software use unity3d, it can work with Arduino :)
But is c#. I work with this a long time, but i am a bad coder.
When you calc the costs keep in mind. import costs and freight. Time to dev at least 500 boards.
If you like i can share my knowledge :)

    Hi Andreas,
I cannot find any empty dart board on AliBaba so far, maybe you've got a direct link to a product ?

Wow, rewriting the software ? ... We have to think about it ;) I am a pretty bad coder as well, I started pyDarts to learn and I have to clean my own code very often...

Your knowledge is obviously welcome. Come to Berlin Sunday 22th (next week) and we'll share a beer IRL ;)

They are not empty, you have to get in touch with a supplier :) China can make all what you need. A simple redesign is not a Problem for a manufacturer. Some ship also free sample.
    for example here:
    https://jarlaudio.en.alibaba.com/product/60056215852-210451782/Hot_Selling_Cheap_Plastic_Electronic_Dartboard_dart_boards.html
When you switch to unity3d, you have software for windows / linux / Android / iphone etc. in once

Berlin is 500Km one way. It is a little bit to expensive for me to drive there for a beer :)
When you sometime reach the northsea, we can meet for sure.

you can calc ca. 700$(seaFreight cheapest) for 500 boards only shipping.
use a Freight forwarder in your country to handle this, do not try this alone... you will fail.

Try to find a overregional customer for the whole charge of 500.
If you dev the boards calc 2hours per board to finish. so 1 People work 5 days a week with 8hours, then you need 25 weeks to finish. So you need a speed up process:

Try to prepare a PCB for the Board, so that the ribbon Matrix cable only needed to clamp in a socket.
For PCB you can use: https://oshpark.com/ I use them for my prototypes.
Make a PCB where you can press the Arduino Nano in a Socket :) 500 Arduino Nano Fakes cost between 2.60$ to 3.00$ per unit. The process finaly should be: open the Board put the PCB in, clamp the cable and close the board. 10-15 minutes each board max.

I can try to make a prototype in unity for the matrix, but i cannot promise anything.

you max circa incoming after tax will be 6000€ when you need to share with 4 devs. and your end customer price is 79.95€

this is all hypothetic, but based on my experience.

    Great feedback Andreas.
We'll discuss all this with Diego next week, but that look interesting.
Our plan is nevertheless to keep a DIY and opensource spirit for this project, but why not providing a bundle as well.

that is exactly my main board... the one which Andreas provided.

    Diego2 here.
