I have bought a Carromco Dart It have 3 Buttons a 25 contacts from the board.
I think it is correct that i need only 3 buttons? i think it is 12x13. matrix, should be possible?
I will post piics later, because battery of my phone is empty :)

Which connector do you use for the FFC cable? I did not find a acceptble connector. :(

    Strange pair of slick !

    12x13 = 156 inputs.
A regular dart board has 64 portions + N buttons

That is why 9x8, 10x7, etc. are more frequent.

Don't know what you can do with such a dart board.

Report if you success and good luck !

yeah, the foil is 1piece and it is folded, thats why it have 25 contacts, i think some of them are common/ground. i will reengineer the pathes and draw my own matrix. I try to stick the FCC cable on a PCB and slide this in an old ISA Slot. The rest should run easy. I give feedback when i am more done :)

all of the lines are from the foil?

If not, if only 20 are from it, we might have to change arduino config...

POILOU : maybe for a "camembert portion", for 1 entry "in there are 2 out?
what do you think? (the "in" will be a "out" with another one?)
for arduino config : we need to check the continuity of each entry and out and each dart will a doble for coordonate?

Let me meassure the Matrix first :)

    ah it is a 20x 4
1 foil numbers, and 1 foil double, triple, bull. For that i need a Arduino Mega.
I try another Dartboard from ebay. I hope i have more luck then.

20x4 is possible but it's one of the most dumbest way of constructing a matrix we can see.

No, there is worst : 35x2. Why doing such a thing ?

I didn't really understand the deal, but I hope you'll find a way to make it work.
AFAIK, nobody tried with an arduino mega so far.

So your feedback will be precious, keep us up to date !
    Cheers

the 1st picture of the foil does not match with the 2 last????
the 2 lastest : I do not understand why there is a big white path reaching the electronic board and for yhe 1st, we can see the 25 lines.....

They are the same. Like i said it is folded 4 lines are going to Double, triple and bull, ground.
I cant get a 25 pin fcc connector, so i will try another board, that will arrive monday.
I have tried to solder , but the foil melt to fast. Arduino mega have more inputs, so it should work like the uno. And you can use keyboard input, because of the ATMega chip on it.

you can not solder the foil...this is plastic...

You're right Diego ! Soldering the foil is a mistake we already did ;) Never do that or your board is ready to throw away.

indeed :) But i can repair with: http://www.reichelt.de/?ARTICLE=178668 And much hot glue.
The trick is to "color" all lines and then press a Prototyping board on it. But i take a look in my "new" dart board that arrive today.
