this topic is very good idea !
I tried to make one last week for a friend but not compatible (20x4) with arduino UNO.
Poilou : I think we can create a folder in the wiki to show which board is compatible or not with a kind of arduino.

    @Andreas,
Did you figured out how to order empty darts board from China (or anywhere else) ?

I have already shared my knowledge :)
When you have capital ca. 10000 € just start.
If not, you need to make a kickstarter or indiegogo campaign to collect money you need.
In the 2. Option you find the real interest of people in this project.

I offer my help when you need it.

    Andreas,
Which company would you contact to get a cotation for this project ?
In this case, we definitly need a few pieces to start working on, and then send them the final product.

Whom want you send a final product?
You have to deliver exactly what you want, you cannot send a sample and hope they build it this way.
You can send a layout and the parts for building it.
When you want samples you need to go to alibaba.com
Make an account and contact for example: https://german.alibaba.com/product-detail/high-quality-pcb-94vo-pcb-electronic-dart-board-parts-60302508254.html say exactly what you need, and with a little bit luck you get some examples.

Here is not a good place to talk about this. Mail or direct chat is more postive i think.

thanks andrea , I gonna draw something and send it to a manufacturer.

    what we need:

3 buttons (maybe more if we upgrade the soft??? what do you think?)
    1 arduino uno
    evrything well connected

I ll make one with arduino uno wifi (a friend of mine is going to write a soft for mac os and android)

My true suggest is to start a https://www.kickstarter.com/ or https://www.indiegogo.com/ campaign. You need to know how many people are interested in this. You need a Market analysis.
A Manufacturer will not glue the Arduino for you in the board, they want sell ready pcbs. The electronics boards you find on alibaba are ready and cannot redsign for your needs, until you order 5k to 10k pcs.
on the Arduino wifi is a esp8266. For us is easy to config, but what is when the customers runs in trouble to connect the wifi, Who will help him.
Dont get me wrong, but it needs more to get a successfully project.
    Kickstart it ;)

    Yep you're right Andreas :)
We are newbees in this kind of project. Kickstarting could be a good way to benchmark, but IMHO we will fail to gather 5K intersted people ;)

    Lets try it out :)

What about HC-06 bluetooth module instead of esp 8266 wiFi? It is more stable. an the ports tx/rx are free.
Do you really need buttons in the board?
We have all functions on keyboard?

    hi there,

it's my first post on sourceforge so i don't know if there is a presentation topic somewhere...

I want to make myself a pydarts board but i dont know wich board to buy (i already have a pi3 and a funduino uno).

i was thinking to buy the lower price e-board at local decath10n , but I don't know if it will work, maybe somebody has already test it ?

    Poulopop ;)

      Hi Poulolop !

No specific place to introduce yourself, you're welcome.

The only real exigency would be to be able to create a matrix
understandable by the arduino, with the two plastic leaves that stand at
      the back of the board.

As far as I know, most of the market boards suits, but in doubdt, my
recommandation would be to try first on a used one, that you can buy for
a penny on the french flea markets (brocantes / foire au grenier).

We can continue this discussion in french by email if you like,
      labiloute (at) neuf (dot) fr

Cheers and good luck ! We are here to help :)

    Hi,

good to hear there is one more pydarts player in the community!!
dont hesitate to ask a question, it will be a pleasure to help you!

Dont worry, old dart board are good to convert (the matrix will be fine, like 98 or 88)

    c u online!
